American Presidency is a Sham

I am out of patience with the way America works. why are we restricted to a two party system for the highest office in the land? sure, independents and others can run, but they are really just percentage changers in the grand scheme of things. and why do we need primaries? why can’t whoever gets enough signatures be on the ballet in November? seriously, its a gigantic waste of money, time and personal energy. suddenly, after 6 months of campaigning, i have no clue what these candidates believe, or what policies they prefer. but then, being president shouldn’t be about an agenda or policies, should it? being president should be about running American, not promoting personal ambition. I vote for America when i cast my ballet, i don’t vote for pretenders. sometimes its about selecting the person who will lie to me the least(hopefully), but mostly its about trying to pick the person who won’t be so much about themselves and they are about actually managing American and the interests of it Actual People. so for the last 60 years when we have been run by corporations with profit mongering in mind, America has gone from friend to tolerated crazy uncle to often hated enemy. money rules us doesn’t it? or should we rule money? and don’t get me started on the Electoral Collge…sham sham sham…outdated insulting sham…

American opportunity

The current state of dissolution my generation experiences will surely result in a cultural shift. there is no denying that we under 30 are techno savvy, quick to respond, information seeking, and social loving. we generally don’t trust authority, though without it we would be lost and reckless. we want to leave our mark on the world while we are still young enough to enjoy it, and we want older people to get out of the way. we also must find balance. we must learn to work with and from the older generations. they have experience and wisdom that we lack from years lived. but older people must wake up and realize that we are able to mobilize people to our cause much faster and with more passion that before and that when we want to change society, we can by simply showing up and taking over. we don’t want the baggage that come from the civil rights years or the cold war or Reaganomics. we want American to function for us and not the politicians who have taken charge. Americans haven’t voted for people in a half century. they have voted for ideas and policies. we will vote for change makers, status shakers, and we want our money to work for something. there is no reason to get rich in politics. America is in 9 trillion dollars debt. we should, being the wealthiest nation have that amount in surplus. invest our tax money in infrastructure and the market. stop spending it on useless wars or on special interests. people can get their own money for projects. invest tax money in student loan programs, treasury notes, food markets. rebuild our agriculture and industrial base, so that when America starts to have extra cash, we can invest in developing nations. this has been a political rant.
